Posh may be down but they are certainly not out!

Whilst it may seem laughable that in this Championship campaign we`re on our fourth manager you get the feeling that, behind the scenes, the stormy seas are now a lot calmer and that all eyes are focused on next season and another, hopefully, charge towards promotion.

With it being announced yesterday that Darragh MacAnthony is set to take legal action against two newspapers who printed untruths about his business empire, it was also the perfect time for Darragh to step forward an disuse a statement relating to his ambitions for Posh and how they`ve not diminished even though we`ve suffered the heartache that relegation brings.

This is what Darragh had to say,

‘Most importantly I am and remain committed to Peterborough United Football Club.’

‘After two successful seasons this current season has been awful for everyone at the club and for you as supporters. Some say two out of three isn’t bad but for me it is. I am going to ensure we correct the situation.”

‘There was a report in a newspaper that said the club’s debt has risen. The answer is yes, it has risen, because I have put more of my own money into the club! “

‘We even donated our shirt sponsorship to local charities for the second half of the season and turned down a multi-thousand pound sponsorship deal to do so. Let me once more assure our fans I will be doing everything in my power to help push the manager and the team back to the Championship next season.”

‘We are on a firm footing and I now believe we have a manager that can steer us to continued success on the field.’

Detention for the man at the back of the class who pointed out that last line reminds him of similar words after the appointment of Mark Cooper!
