Peterborough United goalkeeper Conor O’Malley has been called up to the provisional Republic of Ireland friendly matches due to take place in the next few weeks!

It’s an excellent achievement for the goalkeeper who spent alot of this season as understudy to loanee Jonathan Bond. O’Malley did feature 13 times for Posh though making a good impression on Posh fans as they gave him a vote of confidence in the recent “Keep, Sell, Loan Out or Release” poll. He missed the final few matches of the season with a thigh injury which he has now recovered from.

The forthcoming fixtures are against Celtic, France and the USA. The game against Celtic is at Celtic Park and is a testimonial fixture for Scott Brown while the game with France is at the Stade De France!

O’Malley should find out whether he has made the full squad in the next 10 days.
