The final team we look at ahead of the League One season is Yeovil Town.

LAST SEASON

For the first time ever in the history of Yeovil Town, they were playing in the second tier of English football. Sadly for Yeovil, it finished with them being relegated.

After winning their opening game of the season, Town only encountered victory seven more times as they finished the season in last place.

THE MANAGER – GARY JOHNSON

Gary Johnson returned for his second spell in charge of Yeovil after spending five years at Bristol City, which included losing a play-off Final to Hull City, and less than a season at Posh and then Northampton.

Just as Darren Ferguson seems to be at home at Posh, the same can be said for Johnson and Yeovil.

In Johnson`s first stint in charge of Yeovil, he guided them from the Conference to League One in two consecutive seasons.

He returned to Yeovil in March 2012 and in his first full season, he helped guide Yeovil to the next level via the play-offs. They beat Brentford in the final to reach the Championship for the first ever time.

Johnson had a less than glamorous playing career. He failed to make the grade at Watford and moved to Sweden to play for a second division team. On returning to this country, he played part-time football at Soham Town Rangers, Newmarket Town and Cambridge United.

VISITING THE GROUND?

Huish Park holds just under 10,000 fans and has been the home of Yeovil Town since 1990.

Away fans are situated in the Copse Road open terrace at one end of the ground. Up to 1,500 supporters can be housed in this area.

Posh travel to Yeovil on Saturday, 20th September, 2014.

SUMMER BUSINESS SO FAR

Johnson released four players following their relegation from the Championship. Veteran defender Jamie McAllister along with Joey Jones, Ruben Palazuelos and Reuben Reid have also been let go. Reid spent the majority of last season on loan at Plymouth scoring 21 goals and has since signed a permanent deal.

Five players have been offered new contracts. Former Posh defender Seth Nana Twumasi is one of those offered a new deal along with goalkeeper Marek Stech, striker James Hayter, and defenders Byron Webster and Luke Ayling. Hayter is the only player to accept the new offer.

Full-back Nathan Smith has joined the club from last seasons League Two Champions Chesterfield. Two other defenders coming in to the club is former Birmingham City centre-back Aaron Martin and right-back Brendan Maloney from Bristol City. Another defender has signed but only on loan. He is a familiar face to Posh fans as it`s Ben Nugent from Cardiff City who Posh had on loan last season.

Forward AJ Leitch-Smith has joined the Glovers on a two-year contract following his release from League One rivals Crewe. Goalkeeper Chris Weale has re-joined the club following an eight year absence after he was released by Shrewsbury at the end of last season and is joined at the club by former Exeter keeper Artur Krysiak.

Another freebie is Jakub Sokolik who joins after being released by Liverpool. Sokolik came through the academy system at Anfield, but didn`t make a first-team appearance for the Premier League club. He spent six months on loan at Southend last season, making 12 appearances for the League Two club.

Midfielder James Berrett has signed on a two-year deal after he failed to agree a new contract at Carlisle United.

THEY PLAYED FOR BOTH

Craig Alcock

Craig Alcock is the most recent player to have played for both clubs. He played just over 100 games for Yeovil and nearly 100 for Posh before he left London Road at the end of last season.

Arron Davies is another recent player to have played for both clubs. He was brought to Posh by Johnson who had previously managed the midfielder at Yeovil.

Other players to have played for both clubs include strikers Howard Forinton, Reuben Reid, Scott Rendell, Miguel de Souza and Giuliano Grazioli.

PAST MEETINGS

There have only been seven competitive matches played between the two clubs with four of these coming in the League.

The Glovers have only beaten Posh once and that came at London Road in the 2008/09 season. In total, Posh have won four matches and drawn the other two.

The last time the clubs met each other was in 2010/11 when Posh won 2-0 at Huish Park thanks to goals from Craig Mackail-Smith and Grant Basey.

The return fixture ended 2-2 at London Road with three of the goals all coming in the last three minutes! Kelvin Langmead (87) and Craig Mackail-Smith (89) scored the Posh goals.

WHAT THE BOOKIES THINK

Although Yeovil are one of the three team relegated from the Championship last season, they aren`t one of the favourites to go back up. They are 9th favourites to win the League One title at 18/1 and 6/1 to be promoted.

They are 12/5 to finish in the top six and 10/1 to suffer back-to-back relegations.
