Huddersfield Town have expressed an interest in Peterborough United defender Gaby Zakuani.

Gabriel Zakuani

Our friends at Vital Huddersfield have reported that the Terriers are interested in the 27-year-old Democratic Republic of Congo International.

Zakuani rejected an offer from Posh of a new 3-year contract at the end of last season and, in line with club policy, was placed on the transfer list.

It will be a strange decision if Zakuani does go to the Terriers after all the Twitter banter and abuse he received from their fans in the past and especially last season.

Other clubs are rumoured to be interested in the defender and it sounds increasingly likely that he will be departing London Road sooner rather than later as he tweeted: “Things are looking very positive” but he has denied any knowledge of Huddersfield enquiring after him!

There is no doubt that if he is still at Posh come the start of the season that he will give his all as usual and keep doing a #TwoFootedLunge
